Questions.
How does the free matcha sample work?
The sample, 5 g of Signature Ceremonial Matcha, is free; you only pay CHF 2.50 shipping. Your matcha subscription starts 7 days after your order. Two days before, we will remind you by email; until then you can cancel free of charge with one click in your account. After that the minimum term is three deliveries, then you can cancel any time. Details in our terms and conditions.
What if I do not like the matcha?
Then cancel before it starts, with one click in your account. The subscription begins 7 days after your order, and we will remind you by email two days before. Until then, cancelling is free of charge, and nothing further is sent.
How does the matcha subscription work?
You receive 30 g of Signature Ceremonial Matcha in a pouch, every 2 weeks or every month, for CHF 32 instead of CHF 48 per delivery, 33 % off, with free shipping. And every 4th pouch is on us: after three deliveries, extend by three more and it comes free on top. Sooner with friends. The minimum term is three deliveries; after that, cancel any time in your account. You can change the frequency at any time.
How do I get the 4th pouch free?
With the matcha subscription, every paid delivery counts towards your 4th pouch: 30 g of Signature Ceremonial Matcha, as a gift. After three deliveries, extend your subscription by three more deliveries in your account, and it comes free on top of your next delivery. If you invite friends with your personal link, every paid subscription delivery they receive counts as half a delivery towards your 4th pouch, and towards theirs too, as long as you are both subscribed. Your account shows your progress in francs: CHF 16 per delivery, CHF 8 per delivery to your friends, and at CHF 48 it is waiting for you. The free pouch is only available with an active subscription, is never paid out in cash, and your progress lapses when the subscription ends.
What is the difference between ceremonial and culinary matcha?
High-quality ceremonial matcha comes from the young leaves of the first harvest in shaded tea gardens and is made to be drunk pure, as usucha with water: deep green, silky, with plenty of umami. Culinary matcha usually comes from later harvests, is more yellowish and harsher, and is used for baking and cooking. But not every ceremonial matcha is the same: the term is not protected, and origin, harvest and processing differ widely. You can tell whether it lives up to its name by tasting it pure.
How do I prepare matcha properly?
Best with the paste method: sift 2 g of matcha into a warmed bowl, stir it with 10 ml of water at 75–80 °C into a thick paste, add 20–50 ml of water at 75–80 °C and whisk with the bamboo whisk (chasen) in W-shaped strokes until frothy. The result is a matcha shot without lumps, to drink pure or as the base of a latte. Boiling water makes matcha bitter.
